Product Description
(IP69 & IS 1448 (P : 39) 1967)
Used to determine thevapour pressure of volatile non-viscous Petroleum products except liquifiedpetroleum gases. The Vapour pressure is made up of brass heavily Chroniumplated and consists of an air chamber and a gasoline chamber of definitedimensions and volume ratio. A pressure gauge of required range is fitted abovethe air chamber. The joints are made leak proof by neoprene washers. The waterbath used is of such dimensions that the vapour pressure bombs may be immersedto at least 1 inch above the air chamber and maintained at a constanttemparature range upto 1000C plus minus 20C.

Precise Temperature Control for Reliable ResultsEquipped with a double-walled, insulated water bath and a digital temperature controller, this apparatus ensures uniform heating and accurate temperature maintenance at 37.8C. The over-temperature cutoff enhances operational safety, providing peace of mind during laboratory procedures. This meticulous temperature control is essential for obtaining consistent and reliable vapor pressure measurements as per international test standards.
Robust and Corrosion-Resistant ConstructionManufactured with high-quality stainless steel and brass components, the instrument promises durability, longevity, and resistance to corrosive petrochemical substances. Its rugged, corrosion-resistant construction makes it ideal for demanding laboratory environments, supporting repeated use with minimum maintenance. The bench-top design allows convenient installation in standard laboratory layouts.
FAQ's of Reid Vapour Pressure Test Apparatus:
Q: How do I operate the Reid Vapour Pressure Test Apparatus?
A: To operate the apparatus, fill the sample flask up to 100 ml with petroleum product, assemble it with the vapor and air chambers, and immerse it in the water bath pre-set to 37.8C. Measure the vapour pressure once temperature equilibrium is reached, using the calibrated analog pressure gauge. All operations are performed manually as per IS 1448 (P:39) standard method.
Q: What types of samples can be tested using this apparatus?
A: The apparatus is suitable for testing petroleum products and a variety of other volatile liquids. It is designed in compliance with IS: 1448 (Part VI) and ASTM D323 standards, making it ideal for determining vapor pressure in such substances within the 0-1 kg/cm2 range.
Q: When should I use this instrument in my laboratory workflow?
A: Use the Reid Vapour Pressure Test Apparatus whenever you need to determine the vapor pressure of volatile petroleum products or other similar liquids. It is an essential step in quality control and specification checks in both research and production environments.
Q: Where can I install and use this equipment?
A: This apparatus is intended for bench-top installation in laboratories. Its compact design and robust construction make it suitable for petroleum testing labs, research institutions, and quality assurance facilities for exporters, importers, manufacturers, and suppliers.
Q: What process does the apparatus use to measure vapor pressure?
A: The instrument uses an immersion heater to uniformly heat the water bath, which in turn heats the sample flask. Manual controls allow the operator to monitor the pressure increase via the analog dial, delivering immediate readings as the vapor pressure equilibrates with the external environment.
Q: How does this apparatus ensure accurate and safe operation?
A: Accurate results are ensured by the precise digital temperature controller and calibrated glycerin-filled analog gauge, offering an accuracy of 0.02 kg/cm2. Safety is maintained through an over-temperature cutoff in the water bath to protect samples and equipment from overheating.
Q: What are the key benefits of using this apparatus for vapor pressure testing?
A: Benefits include compliance with international standards, reliable and repeatable measurements, durable stainless steel/brass construction, and safe, user-friendly operation. Its standardized setup streamlines testing processes and enhances laboratory productivity.
