Product Description
ADAPTER FOR LOW VISCOSITY MATERIALS
The Adapter for low viscosity materials (LCP) is an accessory which consists in a precision spindle rotating inside a sample container. Container fits into a circulating water jacket for precise temperature control.
It allows accurate and reproducible measurements on low viscosity materials and shear rate determinations. It is commonly used to enlarge low viscosity ranges until 1 cP. It is also available with embedded PT 100 in lower cap for a direct readout of sample temperature and without water jacket for samples requiring to be temperized at high temperatures (up to 200ºC).
Used together with a viscometer model V2 allows determinations of shear rate ( SR) and shear stress (SS).
It is supplied with a special, cylindrical spindle.
Standard LCP code LCP-001
LCP with embedded temperature sensor Code LCP-0010/T
LCP for low viscosity materials to be measured at high temperatures Code LCP-001/h

FAQs of ADAPTER FOR LOW VISCOSITY MATERIALS:
Q: How is the Adapter for Low Viscosity Materials installed on a viscometer?
A: The adapter features threaded and quick-release connectors, allowing it to be securely and swiftly attached to compatible rotational viscometers, such as Brookfield models. A detailed user guide is included to facilitate the installation process.
Q: What types of materials can this adapter measure accurately?
A: It is designed specifically for low viscosity liquids, capable of measuring materials within the range of 1 to 1,000 mPas. This includes solvents, oils, and other low viscosity industrial or laboratory fluids.
Q: When should I use this low viscosity adapter during analysis?
A: Use this adapter whenever you need precise viscosity measurements of fluids that fall into the low viscosity range, ensuring enhanced accuracy and minimizing errors inherent to standard viscometer spindles.
Q: Where can the adapter be used and under what environmental conditions?
A: The adapter performs optimally in ambient conditions, typically between 10C and 40C, and can operate in environments with up to 80% relative humidity (non-condensing).
Q: What is the process for cleaning and maintaining the adapter?
A: The LVA adapter is fully disassemblable, giving you easy access to all component parts. Simply separate the body, spindle, sample cell, and connectors for thorough cleaning according to the user manual.
Q: How does the adapter benefit viscosity measurement?
A: By providing a controlled, small-volume sample environment and specialized geometry, the adapter improves measurement accuracy for low viscosity samples and reduces test variability.
Q: Is the adapter powered or automated?
A: No, the adapter functions as a passive, manual accessory for viscometers and does not require any power source or automation. All adjustments and cleaning are done manually.
