Product Description

The NACGVA tube furnaces use free radiating wire elements embedded within the insulation of the furnace body. The benefit of this design is its flexibility; with the use of tube adapters the same furnace can be used with a variety of tube diameters.

This range of tube furnaces does not include an integral work tube and one must be selected as an additional item. The work tube length is dependent on the application eg for use with modified atmosphere or vacuum. The use of a separate work tube has the advantage of protecting the heating elements from damage or contamination.

In general construction the NACGVA furnace body is similar to that of the NACGHA Tube Furnace, but it is mounted on a 'Versatile' stand.

Standard Features

  • 1200°C maximum operating temperature
  • Accepts work tubes with outer diameter up to 170 mm
  • Heated lengths of 300, 450, 600, 750, 900, 1050 or 1200 mm
  • Removable tube adaptors simplify working with different tube diameters
  • Long life, rapid heating, resistance wire elements mounted in rigid, vacuum formed insulation modules
  • Supplied with versatile stand for vertical, wall mounted and horizontal use
  • Control module with 2 metre conduit to furnace
  • Carbolite 301 controller, with single ramp to set-point & process timer

Advanced Temperature Control and Uniformity

Equipped with a PID digital temperature controller and Kanthal A1 or MoSi2 heating elements, the NACGVA single zone vertical tube furnace guarantees accurate heat delivery and uniform distribution. The system maintains temperature precision within 1C and features a programmable safety cut-off to prevent overheating, making it reliable for sensitive processes.

Customizable for Diverse Applications

Designed to support laboratory, research, and industrial operations, this furnace is highly adaptable. With customizable tube materialsquartz, ceramic, or stainless steeland chamber lengths, users can tailor the system to their process requirements. The vertical orientation allows convenient sample loading and ensures efficient workflow in any lab or production setting.

Durable Build and Efficient Insulation

Constructed with an insulated steel body and high-quality refractory fiber, the NACGVA furnace offers long-lasting durability. The 50 mm thick high-purity ceramic fiber insulation minimizes heat loss, improving energy efficiency and maintaining safe external temperatures. This ensures high performance while supporting sustainable, cost-effective operations.

FAQs of NACGVA - Single Zone Vertical Tube Furnaces:

Q: How do I operate the NACGVA single zone vertical tube furnace?

A: Begin by selecting the appropriate tube material (quartz, ceramic, or stainless steel) as per your process needs. Load your sample vertically through the top or bottom, depending on the model. Use the digital PID controller to set the desired temperatureup to 1200Cand ramp rate. The programmable safety interlock and over-temperature protection will ensure safe operation throughout.

Q: What types of applications is this furnace suitable for?

A: The NACGVA-VT1200 is ideal for laboratory research, industrial heating, materials testing, and sample processing where precise temperature control and uniform heating are essential. Its customizable design and high accuracy make it versatile for various thermal experiments and production environments.

Q: When is it necessary to choose Kanthal A1 wire versus MoSi2 rod heating elements?

A: Kanthal A1 wire is recommended for continuous operations at lower temperatures and high oxidation resistance, while MoSi2 rods are better suited for applications requiring higher temperature capability and longevity at elevated heat levels. Selection depends on the maximum required temperature and process environment.

Q: Where can the NACGVA furnace be installed for best results?

A: Install the furnace in a clean, well-ventilated laboratory or industrial area, away from direct moisture and corrosive environments. Ensure access for vertical sample loading and proper positioning for safe operation within the provided dimension footprint (410 x 350 x 600 mm approx.).

Q: What is the process for customizing tube and chamber dimensions?

A: Contact the supplier or manufacturer with your specific process requirementssuch as desired tube material, diameter (up to 50 mm), and chamber length beyond the standard 300 mm. Customization ensures optimal compatibility with your experimental protocols or production workflows.

Q: How does the insulation and cooling system benefit users?

A: The 50 mm high-purity ceramic fiber insulation actively reduces heat loss, ensuring excellent energy efficiency and minimizing external surface temperature. The natural air cooling system maintains safe operational temperatures and simplifies maintenance, as no additional cooling infrastructure is required.

Q: What are the key safety features of the NACGVA-VT1200?

A: This model incorporates programmable over-temperature protection, safety interlocks, and a robust insulated chassis. These features protect both users and samples by automatically shutting down the furnace if unsafe conditions are detected, enhancing operator confidence and equipment durability.
