Product Description

The Squeeze synthetic type II diamond compression cell is a wonderful tool for making transmission samples from materials that can be compressed into a transparent sample with moderate force. It is useful for compressing a broad spectrum of materials such as polymers, powders, abrasive samples and cured paint. The sample is simply compressed between the diamond windows by turning thumb screws on the face of the cell until the sample is thin enough for the beam of the spectrophotometer to penetrate. The cell is available with 1.6mm or 2.0mm windows, both of which are large enough to transmit sufficient energy through the sample to produce good spectral resolution without an expensive beam condenser. The cell is only 9.5mm thick at the thickest point and 6mm in the center, making it an ideal microscope stage. Sample preparation for the Squeeze may be added by using our patented diamond tipped Micro-Plane (432112-6546) which operates like a wood plane to shave very thin samples off of substrates such as plastic bottles and painted objects.

Robust High-Pressure Experimentation

This compression cell sets a new standard in laboratory research, harnessing synthetic diamond anvils and a precision screw clamp for pressure generation up to 10 GPa. Its stainless steel body ensures durability, making it suitable for repetitive and demanding applications across research environments.

Optimized for Optical Clarity and Access

The 2 mm diameter optically polished window allows direct observation of samples under pressure. Its adaptability with most standard optical microscope stages makes integration straightforward, enabling users to conduct advanced studies without significant equipment overhaul.

Tool-Free Manual Operation

Designed for simplicity, the device is powered entirely via manual tightening. The absence of electrical components makes it ideal for setups where electrical interference is a concern, preserving lab safety and functionality.

FAQs of Synthetic Diamond Compression Cell & Microscope Stage:

Q: How do I calibrate pressure in the Synthetic Diamond Compression Cell?

A: Pressure calibration can be performed using ruby fluorescence methods or a standard pressure gauge, depending on your laboratory setup and experimental requirements.

Q: What types of microscopes is this compression cell compatible with?

A: The cell is adaptable to most standard optical microscope stages, offering versatility for diverse research laboratories. Please verify stage dimensions for precise compatibility.

Q: When should special temperature versions be considered for use?

A: Special high or low temperature versions are recommended if your experiment involves conditions outside of room temperature to maintain sample integrity and cell performance.

Q: Where can I procure accessories or replacement parts for the compression cell?

A: Accessories including gasket sets, tightening tools, and sample holders are supplied by the manufacturer, exporter, or authorized dealers in India for easy maintenance and upgrades.

Q: What is the process of installing the cell onto a microscope stage?

A: Position the cell securely on the microscope stage, ensuring the optically polished window aligns with the viewing path. Use the provided clamps and tools to fasten it per the instructional manual.

Q: How is maintaining sample visibility ensured during compression?

A: The optically polished window aperture allows clear observation throughout experiments, enabling real-time monitoring of sample changes under pressure.

Q: What benefits does manual operation offer in research environments?

A: Manual operation provides precise control over clamping and eliminates electrical interference, improving reliability especially in sensitive optical or electromagnetic environments.
